When Jordan scored 50 against the Milwaukee Bucks, it was another example of his ability
to elevate beyond what anyone thought was possible. The 62% shooting efficiency on that
volume of attempts is what separated him from every other scorer in history.

NEW YORK KNICKS · 1993–2005
ALLAN HOUSTON'S 1999 FLOATER ELIMINATED THE INDIANA PACERS — NOT JORDAN RELATED BUT DEFINED THE POST-JORDAN EAST
The Shot That Ended Jordan's Last Supporting Cast
Allan Houston averaged 18.3 points per game at his peak and was one of the most elegant shooting guards
of the late 1990s. His 1999 floater against the Sixers is one of the most famous shots in Knicks history. He
played the exact position Jordan had defined and did it with a similar smoothness — pull-up mid-range, free
throw line work, catch-and-shoot. He never had Jordan's athleticism or competitive fire at the same level.
He had the most Jordan-like shooting mechanics of anyone in the post-Jordan era.
The Jordan Connection: Houston's career is defined by the era immediately after Jordan — the vacuum left
when Jordan retired the second time in 1998. The Eastern Conference reshaped itself. Houston was the New
York version of the mid-range scorer trying to exist in Jordan's shadow without Jordan in the league.
