When Jordan scored 50 against the New York Knicks, it was another example of his ability
to elevate beyond what anyone thought was possible. The 48% shooting efficiency on that
volume of attempts is what separated him from every other scorer in history.

The Most Underrated Point Guard Of The Entire 1990s
Mookie Blaylock averaged 13.5 points, 6.7 assists, and 2.5 steals per game at his peak. He led the NBA in
steals twice. Pearl Jam originally named themselves 'Mookie Blaylock' after him. He made two All-Defensive
teams. He was the best player on Atlanta Hawks teams that won 50+ games in the mid-1990s but always ran
into Jordan-era competition in the Eastern Conference playoffs. His career statistics are significantly better
than his historical reputation.
The Jordan Connection: Blaylock's steals-oriented game and competitive fire made him one of the more
interesting individual matchups for Jordan's Bulls in the playoffs. His Hawks team won 57 games in 1996-97
and was still eliminated from serious championship contention by the Jordan-era Eastern Conference.
