When Jordan scored 55 against the New York Knicks, it was another example of his ability
to elevate beyond what anyone thought was possible. The 57% shooting efficiency on that

THE 1995 PLAYOFF COMEBACK — GRANT'S MAGIC ELIMINATED JORDAN IN ROUND 2
He Left The Bulls And Immediately Helped Knock Jordan Out Of The Playoffs
When Jordan made his 'I'm Back' return in 1995, he faced Horace Grant in the second round of the playoffs.
Grant — who had left the Bulls for Orlando in 1994 — was now the power forward of the Magic team with
Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway. Grant defended Jordan harder than almost anyone that series. The
Magic eliminated the Bulls 4-2. Grant knew every Bulls play, every Bulls tendency, every weakness. The
Bulls' failure to retain him cost them the 1995 championship.
The Jordan Connection: Jordan and Grant remained close friends despite competing. Grant has said that
defending Jordan in 1995 was the hardest thing he ever did on a basketball court — and that Jordan would
have won more without the absence of 1993-94 in between.
